Siemens is the Exclusive Diamond Sponsor for GreenBiz 2011, which takes place in Ho Chi Minh on 15 & 16 September. At this event, the green infrastructure giant presents its green portfolio to assist mega cities like Ho Chi Minh City to attain a sustainable development, as well as its answers to Vietnam’s challenge on climate change. And for the very first time the train model, which Siemens proposes to use for the metro line 2 project in HCM City, will be introduced to the public at Siemens booth.
Sustainability is Siemens’ guiding principle since our foundation more than 160 years ago. “I won’t sell our future for short-term profit” is a very famous saying of our great founder, Mr. Werner von Siemens. And for the fourth time in a row, Siemens AG was rated the most sustainable company in its sector by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) this year. The Carbon Disclosure Project also puts us at No. 1.
At GreenBiz 2011 Siemens Vietnam President and CEO Erdal Elver is joining other Siemens senior speakers from Germany and ASEAN region to present Siemens green portfolio that assists mega cities like Ho Chi Minh City to attain a sustainable development and to combat climate change.
“With our unique green portfolio, Siemens is the perfect partner for sustainable urban development. We expect our green technologies – which already account for more than a third of our total revenue – to be generating more than €40 billion in revenue by 2014, and to help customers save 300 million tons of CO2 in 2011”, said Mr. Elver.
“GREEN-BIZ 2011” is the event presenting Europe’s best green technology, thus creating a national platform for sustainable development. Combining both a conference and exhibition, it brings together policymakers, industry leaders, experts and practitioners to showcase technologies, discover opportunities, and address challenges Vietnam will face in the near future as well as in the longer term.
