The STAR Program (Specialized Training in Advances in Radiology) – a joint initiative supported by Siemens and Bayer Healthcare and organized by Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (VSRNM), took place in Hanoi on January 10th and 11th, 2014.
This is an international educational forum, aiming at presenting cutting-edge developments in radiology for practicing radiologists. The program symposia involve 2 days of lectures by eminent independent experts from all fields of radiology and attract more than 100 radiologists across the country.
Being active for 20 years, the STAR program offers a highly professional educational service to local radiologists presenting and explaining the latest scientific developments, thus helping to increase specific knowledge and skill levels. Global leaders from various radiological specialties discuss procedures and approaches which are to become part of local practice during the STAR program.
During two days, apart from offering a high profile training program through lectures and workshops, STAR also facilitates lively discussions between top level international radiologists and the local radiological community. There are five interactive workshops for discussions on interesting clinical cases with different topics including gastrointestinal radiology, pediatrics radiology, topography and mechanism of brain infarction, cardiovascular imaging and CT Guided Interventions and core biopsies.
“We are very honored to cooperate with Siemens and Bayer Healthcare to bring STAR to Vietnam. This is a specialized training in advances in Radiology, which is really useful for our radiologists in routine examinations as well as to be updated with the state-of-the-art technology developments,” said Prof. Pham Minh Thong, President of VSRNM.
