Siemens helps to develop future engineering students

The handover ceremony of Siemens’ sponsoring package to Ha Noi University of Industry (HAUI) took place in Hanoi today as part of the commitment to further support the engineering education in Vietnam by the world leading green company that stands for technological excellence and innovations for more than 160 years. The package includes demo equipment with a total value of 22,000 USD provided to set up an European standardized training room at HAUI thanks to it engineering students can put what they learn as theory into practice. The project is, therefore, believed to make critical changes towards advancing future generation of Vietnamese engineers and scientists.

For many years, Siemens has been an integral part of Vietnamese economy, and a reliable partner of Vietnam. Technical innovation is the basis of the development of Siemens and it is the talents that create technical innovation. Young professional engineers who are energetic and have a good educational background are expected to be independently innovative. As a leader of technical innovation, Siemens will not only attract and retain the talents, but also be responsible for making contribution to Vietnamese education by making use of its experience and advanced technologies.

Since its official establishment in Vietnam in 1993, Siemens has been engaged in various channels of cooperation with Vietnamese universities and vocational institutions. For instance, in cooperation with German Academy Exchange Service (DAAD), Siemens had awarded a number of scholarships “Asia 21st Century” to the best and brightest Vietnamese students of Hanoi University of Technologies. The company has also sponsored Siemens Automation Training Center at Hanoi University of Technology and at Ho Chi Minh City Technical Training University.

For Ha Noi University of Industry (HAUI), the new Drive Technology training room is set up on the basis of the Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) concept – the most advanced technology in the field nowadays. Basic training equipment including Siemens Sinamics and Motors are provided in the first stage and will be completed gradually to total TIA in the next several years.

Mr. Tran Duc Quy, Rector of HAUI stated: “We highly appreciate Siemens’ support for a European standardized training room with which we can greatly improve the quality of teaching and learning at our university. It’s certain that our students will benefit a lot from “seeing is believing”.

“For Siemens, building and maintaining a close cooperation with local universities is one of our key goals. Our aim is to bring the opportunities of practical exposure to latest technology available for Vietnamese students by which students are more sufficiently equipped with necessary knowledge and skills for their future careers. And by doing so we hope to help universities and institutions in Vietnam make use of industrial technologies into education, and to serve education of practical and innovative talents. This is the responsibility and mission of a multi-national company like Siemens as a responsible corporate citizen in Vietnam”, emphasized Mr. Erdal Elver, Presidents and CEO of Siemens Vietnam at the hand-over ceremony.
